Hi! My Space is currently paused and I cannot restart it because I get this error:
403 You've reached your cpu-basic quota limit, please upgrade your account, or pause your previous Spaces to restart this one
I only have one Space on my account, and it has been paused for over a week. Could you please check whether my CPU Basic quota is stuck or incorrectly recorded?

Worth knowing this might not be a stuck-quota bug at all, there’s a broader documented shift: HF quietly restricted free CPU Basic access around July 2026 without an official announcement (see the “Official Community Complaint: Revert Free CPU Basic Spaces” thread, 39 upvotes), and staff have been telling users hitting this exact quota error that upgrading to PRO unlocks the quota, even for CPU-basic specifically. That’s inconsistent with the pricing page, which still lists CPU Basic as free, so the docs and actual enforcement don’t currently match.
So: it might be genuinely stuck (like the other reports here), or it might be that your account is simply past whatever new free-tier CPU-basic limit HF rolled out unannounced. Either way the fix path is the same, email website@huggingface.co with your username and Space id and ask directly whether this is a quota bug or a policy change, worth asking that explicitly since support hasn’t been consistent about which one it is.
Hi @hxnney Creating a Space that runs on compute (Gradio or Docker) requires a paid plan. This includes converting an existing Static Space to Gradio or Docker. Upgrade to PRO to unlock cpu-basic, as well as $2 in free credits, 40 minutes of daily ZeroGPU time, and more.
